Our Mission
Our mission is to model Jesus as we seek unity and biblical justice within our community. We submit ourselves to the Holy Spirit who molds our hearts, minds, and actions. With scripture and prayer as our guide, we listen and lament the unjust experiences of those within our community, create opportunities to lean into conversations and open dialogue with others who may not share our opinion. We partner with the oppressed and unheard to lift their voices and advocate for a better future. As sons and daughters of God, we are bridge builders humbly breaking down walls of division and fostering an environment of peace within our church and our community.
Our Story
We are Christians who are disheartened by injustice in our Northern Michigan community, state, and country. While we have been passionate in our justice journeys for varying amounts of time, God collectively broke our hearts when students at a local high school were racially bullying another student on social media in the summer of 2021. Due to this event, our group first rallied together during a local school board meeting to advocate for an Anti-Racism, Discrimination, Harassment, and Bullying Resolution. After attending this meeting, we recognized our communal passion and desire to see our Northern Michigan community change. Beloved 360 was then formed to collectively do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.
Our Goals
Beloved 360 aims to provide enrichment opportunities for ourselves and others to learn about racism and injustice, build relationships with the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) community, encourage those within our influence to dive deeper into biblical justice, advocate for the oppressed or marginalized, and continuously pray. We are about advocacy, but also about reaching back into our communities.
Our Actions
We partner with other Northern Michigan organizations promoting social justice to learn and advocate. We attend events and cultural celebrations to be in solidarity.
We invite our church community and friends to seek biblical justice in our community by hosting book studies and clubs, educating our peers about Northern Michigan organizations doing justice, and organizing cultural events.
We developed a resource list that has helped us grow deeper, which can be accessed our our resource page.
